MUSKEGON – Muskegon Heights varsity girls basketball team punched its ticket to Friday’s Division 4 district championship game following the Tigers’ 64-49 victory over Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian on Wednesday at Muskegon Catholic Central High School.

Muskegon Heights’ standout junior Ty’veonna Davis – one of the area’s top scorers – unleashed an offensive assault on the Defenders by pouring in 31 points. She had nine in the opening quarter, as the Tigers jumped out to a 21-14 lead.

The Tigers held a 34-26 lead at the half, then increased their advantage to 51-38 after three.

Davis scored eight points in the fourth to help close out the victory.

Teneshia Nolen added 13 points for Heights, while junior A’Neia Johnson contributed nine points.

The Tigers will face the Muskegon Catholic Central Crusaders in Friday’s final, which tips off at 7 p.m. The Tigers improve their record to 6-8 on the season.
