FRUITPORT–A Bradley Richards dunk sparked the Eagles from start to finish in a 70-27 blowout of Hudsonville Libertas Christian.

The Eagles got out to a strong start leading 27-11 at the end of the first quarter. They increased the lead to a halftime score of 49-16. Fruitport Calvary never looked back in the second half as the lead grew to a third quarter score of 64-21.

The Eagles were led offensively in their balanced attack by Freshman Richards with 14 points and three dunks. Another Freshman Quinn Swanson added 13 points. Karsten Sutherland contributed by grabbing 10 rebounds. Jacob May scored eight points while having six assists. Ethan Cammenga also finished with eight points.

“Our boys are excited to be playing on Friday against an outstanding Muskegon Heights team. It should be a lot of fun”, said Coach Brad Richards. “Our coaches couldn’t be more pleased with the mentality our team has reached, they are a true ‘Band of Brothers’, and they are fun to watch”, he added.

The Phoenix were led by the game’s leading scorer, Scott Frain, with 15 points.

Fruitport Calvary Christian improves to 16-6 which is the second best record in the school’s 35 year history. They will advance to face Muskegon Heights in the District Finals on Friday at 7pm at Fruitport Calvary Christian High School.
