The Muskegon Lumberjacks will have to start their nine-game road trip without a four-game win streak.

The Lumberjacks took a rough, 7-2 loss to Green Bay on Saturday at Mercy Health Arena, and now face a jaunting path to the conclusion of their regular season.

Like Friday night’s win over Green Bay, Muskegon took an early 1-0 lead. Joey Larson put the Lumberjacks on the board off an assist from Jack Williams.

The Gamblers evened the score in the first, but Noah Ellis put Muskegon back out in front to finish the period with a 2-1 lead.

But unlike Friday night’s win, Muskegon didn’t score again.

Green Bay put in six unanswered goals in the second and third periods combined, burying the Lumberjacks.

Third-place Muskegon (28-18-3-3) next travels to Youngstown which trails the Lumberjacks by five points in the Western-Conference race and battle for the Clark Cup Playoffs.

Muskegon is set to play a three-game weekend against the Phantoms, starting on April 1.
