MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP – Mona Shores narrowly slipped past Grand Haven, 46-39 on Wednesday to advance to Friday’s Division 1 district championship game at Reeths-Puffer High School.

The 18-3 Sailors will face rival Reeths-Puffer in the title game.

The Sailors’ Jenna Tierman poured in 15 points and Mia Brown added 10 to help sink the Bucs. Mona Shores trailed 19-16 at the half, but a huge 16-5 advantage in the third provided the Sailors with enough of a cushion.

Alyssa Hatzel and Zoe Spoelman each scored six points to lead Grand Haven, which finished its season at 10-12 overall.

Khaleeya Cook also scored nine points for the Sailors.
