BYRON CENTER-The Mona Shores girls basketball team got bounced out of the Division 1 regional opener by Rockford 65-29 on Tuesday evening.

Mona Shores was unable to accumulate double-digit scoring through the first three quarters.

The Sailors quickly fell in a slump and went down 32-14 by halftime. The third quarter was the most dismal as the Sailors fell on the wrong side of a scoring run (15-2), as the Rams built a huge 47-16 lead entering the fourth quarter.

Leading the Sailors offense was Khaleeya Cook who scored 12 points while Ali Phillips added seven points.

Mona Shores rounded out their season with a record of 19-4.
