FRUITPORT–Muskegon Catholic shot 19% from the floor in a 44-26 loss in the District Semifinals to Muskegon Heights on Wednesday evening.

The Tigers jumped out to an early 12-5 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Crusaders couldn’t catch up with their lackluster offensive performance trailing 22-13 at halftime and 28-19 at the end of the third quarter.

Muskegon Heights was led by William Davis with 13 points. Jakari Edwards added 10 points for the Tigers. Johnathon Moore contributed with nine points and JaQuan Mathews finished with eight points for the Tigers.

Jaden Johnson carried the offensive load for MCC with eight points and 10 rebounds. Tramel Caviness had six points and four rebounds. Chase Willer contributed with five points and five rebounds.

Muskegon Heights improves to 12-6 on the season and will take on Fruitport Calvary Christian on Friday at 7pm at Fruitport Calvary Christian High School.

The Crusaders finish their season 6-14 overall and 3-7 in the Lakes 8 Activities conference.
