The Muskegon Community College lady Jayhawks softball team swept a doubleheader at Ancilla College on Tuesday afternoon.

The Jayhawks won the first game against the Ancilla Chargers 13-0 in 5 innings and won the second game, 13-5.

In the opener, Makayla Thompson (Reeths Puffer HS) did not allow a single run against the Chargers, allowing just 4 hits and striking out seven.

The Jayhawks had 15 hits in the game. Brianna Pastor (Oakridge HS), Hayden Ruel (Oakridge HS), Willo Staal (Fruitport HS), Kendyll Bond, and Morgan Knapp (Whitehall HS) all collected hits for the Jayhawks.

Bond, Staal, Ruel, and Pastor each had three hits to lead the Jayhawks.

The Jayhawks won the second game 13-5.

Bond got the win for the Jayhawks with seven innings of work. She allowed 11 hits and had four strikeouts.

Staal hit a home run in the second inning. Bond collected four hits, including two doubles.

The Jayhawks racked up 14 hits in the game. Bond, Annika Roersma (Grand Rapids West Catholic HS), Ruel and Staal had multiple hits.

The Jayhawks are now 13-3 overall.
