FRUITPORT–The Oakridge girls soccer team dropped their opening match of the season on the road with a 1-0 loss in a game versus Fruitport on Friday evening.

Oakridge goalkeeper Izzy Glassford allowed just a single goal while making 15 saves.

The Eagle’s backline saw a lot of action. Kya Minor, Brianna Schallema, Kate Utzinger and Cara Morse all played a crucial role in keeping the game close.

Oakridge (0-1) will host Mason County Central Tuesday, April 12th in non-league action.

Fruitport (1-0) will be at home on Tuesday to take on Whitehall.
