Ravenna’s hot shooting propels them to second half comeback victory over Blanchard Montabella for District Championship

WHITE CLOUD–The Ravenna Bulldogs shot 51% from the floor as they snatched the District Championship away from Blanchard Montabella 56-53.

Ravenna got off to a slow start on both ends of the floor as they opened the ball game down 26-12 at the end of the first quarter. They couldn’t cut into the lead much in the second quarter still trailing 36-24. Ravenna’s hot shooting and stifling defense in the third quarter provided the comeback as they outscored the Mustangs 18-4 to take a 42-40 lead.

Kyle Beebe had an outstanding performance for the Bulldogs with 25 points, 13 rebounds, and four steals. Clay Schullo added 12 points and nine rebounds. Grant Becklin had 10 points and three assists. Travis My finished with nine points as well.

Ravenna improves to 15-6 on the season and will move on to face conference foe North Muskegon on Monday night in the regional semifinals at Carson City-Crystal High School.
