GRANT–The Red Devils and Tigers played a back-and-forth defensive battle that Grant escaped with 38-36.

Holton got off to a good start with a 10-3 first quarter lead. Grant battled their way back to a one possession game at halftime 16-13. The Tigers and Red Devils were even in the third quarter as Holton retained the lead 27-24.

Grant was led offensively by Seth Schuitema with 15 points. Zach Barnhart contributed with eight points for the Tigers.

Kevin Erickson was the leading scorer for Holton with 16 points and three steals. Carter Brant finished with 10 points and four rebounds. Austin Fowler added six points, six rebounds, and six assists. Chase Albright was the leading rebounder for the Red Devils with eight boards.

Head Coach Keith Swanson after the game said, “So proud of the way our guys played tonight. I think Kevin Erickson had the best game of his career tonight which was perfect timing with us being without Monette. Carter Brant continues to show incredible potential. We were just one shot short tonight, which happens. Credit to Grant for making the plays.”

Holton finishes the regular season with a record of 14-6. The Red Devils will play in the District Semifinals on Wednesday at 7pm at Western Michigan Christian High School against the winner of Hart and Hesperia.

Grant finishes the regular season 11-9 with the win. The Tigers will play in the District Semifinals against the winner of Sparta and Comstock Park on Wednesday at Sparta High School.
