RAVENNA– Thomas McCullough, a senior at Ravenna High School, will continue his football career this fall when he attends Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa.

McCullough (6-1, 180 pounds) played in 30 career games with 43 receptions for an 11 yards per catch average; 93 rushes for 7.0 yards per carry; 14 kick returns for a 19.1 average and 15 punt returns with a return for a score. During his career, he played every skill position and served as kick and punt returner.

On defense, he had 59.5 tackles with 15 tackles for loss, a fumble recovery and three interceptions.

McCullough was a 2019 all-conference and all-area pick and earned first-team all-conference honors at defensive back. He also made the MLIve Dream Team second-team.

Thomas McCullough attended one of our prospect camps last summer. He stood out to us athletically and character-wise,” said Dordt University head football coach Joel Penner.

When we bring a recruit to campus we are looking for great students, great athletes, and guys who buy in to our vision,” Penner said. “Thomas impressed us in all three categories. At Ravenna, Thomas wore a lot of hats on the football field and we believe his diverse skill set will benefit him as a college wide receiver.”

Associated with the Christian Reformed Church, Dordt was founded in 1955 and welcomes all students who are interested in a biblical, Christ-centered education.

Dordt University is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).

Thomas is the son of Seth and Trisha McCullough of Ravenna. He plans to study health and human performance.
