GRAND HAVEN–Grand Haven’s girls softball team swept a doubleheader from Grandville, 6-1 and 9-2 at home Tuesday afternoon.

The Buccaneers opened up a 5-0 lead after the first inning and never looked back in winning the first game.

Skylar Covelli, Michayla Chciuk, Sami Franz and Savanna Collins all had multiple hit games as the Buccaneers rapped out 11 hits.

Collins, Franz, Chciuk and Covelli each had two hits to lead the way and the Buccaneers played error-free ball in the field.

Riemersma was the winning pitcher, allowing one run on three hits, strike out 12 and walking three.

Grand Haven jumped out to an early lead in the second game as well and had command throughout.

Regan Riemersma smashed a home run in the sixth inning for the Buccaneers. She and Emily Walcott each had two hits, while Covelli drove in two runs.

Aldred was the winning pitcher, giving up two runs on three hits, striking out six and walking one.
