RAVENNA — Ravenna’s girls softball team swept a West Michigan Conference doubleheader from visiting Montague, 15-0 and 14-4 at home Thursday afternoon.

Emma Gillard was the winning pitcher in Game 1, giving up five hits while striking out eight in four innings.

She also helped her own cause at the plate, going 3-for-3. Emma Herremans was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a triple.

Maddie Kilbourne went 3-for-4 with a triple. Ellie Solem was 2-for-3 with a double. Kara Postema went 2-for-3 with a triple and Liberty Willick had a base hit.

Herremans picked up the win in the second game, giving up four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out two. Emma Gillard came in from the bullpen and gave up two hits, one walk and struck out four in relief. The game was stopped after five innings.

Leading the way at the plate were Herremans who was 3-for-4 with a home run and a triple. Emma Gillard finished 2-for-3 with a double.

Kilbourne was 2-for-4 with two doubles. Postema legged out an inside-the-park home run. Also getting single hits were Addison Gillard and Kendra Denhof.
