RAVENNA — Ravenna’s girls softball team captured the championship of its own invitational tournament on Saturday, defeating Pickford 10-1, Benzie Central 10-0 and Shelby 15-0.

In the first game against Pickford the win went to Emma Herremans in the pitcher’s circle. She gave up one run on one hit one walk and had 11 strike outs.

Leading hitters were Addie Gillard who was 3-for-4, Maddie Kilbourne who was 2-for-4 with a double, Kara Postema who was 2-for-3, Herremans who was 1-for-2, Emma Gillard who was 1-for 1-for-3 and Kendra Denhof who was 1-for-2.

Emma Gillard picked up the win for the Bulldogs against Benzie Central, spinning a no-hitter with 11 strike outs and four walks.

Ravenna’s leading hitters were Postema who was 2-for-3 with a triple, Addie Gillard who was 2-for-4, Kilbourne who was 2-for-4.

Also getting hits were Emma Gillard, Denhof, Ellie Solem, Liberty Willick and Herremans, who had a double.

In the final game against the Shelby Tigers, which went only three innings, Addie Gillard was the winning pitcher and gave up just one hit and striking out three.

Addie Gillard was a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, Denhof and Kilbourne were both 2-for-2 with Kilbourne knocking out a double while Postema also had a double.

Other tournament scores included Benzie Central beating Shelby 6-5, Pickford topping Shelby 14-4 and Benzie Central beat Pickford 10-9.
