MUSKEGON–Oakridge girls’ soccer goalkeeper Isabella Owens-Glassford will be taking her talents to Grace Christian University in the fall.

Owens-Glassford is a four-year varsity player who had a breakout season as a junior for the Eagles. She earned all-district, all-region and all-state honorable mention honors.

“I chose Grace Christian University for my future college because the distance from there to home isn’t too far,” she said. “I was offered a really great experience for soccer, and as I visited chapel and met all these amazing and extremely nice staff members and students, I was so incredibly happy.”

Aside from playing prep soccer for Oakridge, she has been a member of the Muskegon SC Wolves. She has been a team captain for 3 years.

“We are thrilled to add Izzy to this year’s class,” Grace Christian coach Mike Riemersma said. “After watching her film and talking with her, we knew she would be a great fit and addition to our program. She has the work ethic and commitment to putting in the work to achieve her goals.”

Isabella, who will be pursuing a degree in Exercise Science, will join a Grace soccer team that finished last season in the top 5 in the NCCAA DII.

She is the daughter of Kelly and Aaron Owens-Glassford.
