FRUITPORT — Fruitport’s baseball team split a doubleheader with Grand Rapids West Catholic, losing the first game 6-5 and having the nightcap suspended because of darkness with the game tied 5-5 after five innings Thursday.
In the first game the leading hitter was Brady French who had two hits and drove in two runs.
The Trojans fought back from a two-run deficit in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie the game.
Cody Matuz as well as French each had two hits.
