HART — Hart and Shelby split a West Michigan Conference softball doubleheader on Thursday afternoon in Hart, with the Pirates taking the first game 6-4 while the Tigers rebounded to win the nightcap 11-10.

Daphne Clark was in the pitcher’s circle for the Tigers in the opener and struck out three.

Finley Kistler was the winning pitcher for the Pirates, finishing with seven strike outs and walking just two.

Skylar Smith led the Pirate offense going 2-for-3 with three runs batted in. Morgan Marvin, Abby Hicks and Kloe Klotz each had one hit.

Kaylyn Clark paced the Tigers offense with three singles, while Kendall Zoulek and Megan Sly each had one hit while Jackie Hammerle drove in a run. Daphne Clark had a stand-up double.

Shelby rallied to overcome a deficit in the nightcap, with Genessa Girard driving in the game-winning run.

Kaylyn Clark knocked out four hits with a double and four RBI to lead the Tigers. Alisaa Coultier rapped out three hits and had one RBI.

Daphne Clark had three singles and was the winning pitcher with three strike outs. Zoulek finished with two hits including a double and two RBI.

The Pirates gave up three runs in the seventh inning, and were hampered by several critical errors defensively.

Gabby Quijas took the loss in the circle.

Smith, Hicks, Klotz, Kistler and Quijas each had a hit for the Pirates.
