ZEELAND — Mona Shores was supposed to play two games against Zeeland East on Tuesday afternoon, but inclement weather canceled out the second game.

The Sailors did get in the first game, and came away with a 5-2 victory.

Jaxon Huffman picked up the win on the hill for the Sailors, improving his record to 5-0 on the season. He allowed two runs one earned, and struck out 11.

Offensively, the Sailors were led by Mason Brunworth, Mark Konecny and Landon Thalman who knocked out two hits apiece.

In all, eight Sailors recorded at least one hit.

The Sailors improved to 11-2 overall and 7-0 in the OK Green. Tuesday’s second game will be played as part of doubleheader at Mona Shores on Thursday.
