MONTAGUE — Montague’s baseball team swept a West Michigan Conference doubleheader with Oakridge, 8-1 and 6-1 at home Tuesday afternoon.

Kade Johnson picked up the win on the hill in the first game, giving up no runs and four hits with one walk and seven strike outs.

Nick Moss had two hits and two runs scored. Tate Stine also finished with two hits and had a run batted in while Johnson had a double and two RBI.

In the nightcap, Colton Blankstrom was the winning pitcher, allowing one run, six hits with two walks and seven strike outs.

Aidan Buchberger, Blankstrom, Tugg Nichols, Owen Petersen and Chase Gowell each contributed two hits to the offense. Blankstrom and Petersen each had doubles and Gowell knocked out a triple.

Nichols had two RBI and Moss scored two runs.

The Wildcats improved to 8-0 in the conference and 8-5 overall.
