MUSKEGON—The Muskegon Community College women’s softball team defeated Kalamazoo Valley Community College by a final score of 8-5 on Thursday afternoon in a makeup game originally scheduled to be played back on April 22.

Makayla Thompson (Reeths Puffer) got the win for the Jayhawks striking out 4 and while walking only 1.

Hayden Ruel (Oakridge) and Kennadi Dykstra (Fruitport) both singled in the third inning each scoring one run.

Kendyll Bond (Jenison) hit a home run in the 6th inning.

The Jayhawks collected 12 hits throughout the game.

Brianna Pastor (Oakridge), Dykstra, and Annika Roersma (West Catholic) each had multiple hits. Dykstra and Pastor each collected three hits.

The Jayhawks are now 27-7.
