LAKEVIEW — Pounding out 23 hits in the two games, Kent City’s baseball team swept a doubleheader from Lakeview, 18-3 and 23-5 on the road Thursday afternoon.

Kyler Larson started on the hill in Game 1 and gave up only three runs on four hits in four innings of work, ringing up 12 strike outs along the way. Ryan Darling threw an inning of relief.

The Eagles rapped out a total of 11 hits with Darling going 2-for-4 with a run batted in and two runs scored. Webb Longcore also was 2-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored.

Zane Kik finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Troy Atwood had one hit, one RBI and a run scored. Kaleb Witte had one RBI and a run scored. Kyler Larson had one hit, one RBI and a run scored.

Ryan McCuaig drove in a run and scored a run. Payton Oliver had a RBI and scored a run. Xander Chatel drove in two runs, while Josh Anderson and Kyler Hall each drove in a run.

In the second game Larson drove in five runs to highlight the Eagles’ attack. He ended the game with a 3-for-3 performance at the plate. Darling was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Anderson went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs.

Atwood needed just two innings to earn the pitching victory, allowing only one hit and four runs while striking out four. Darling threw one inning of relief.
