COMSTOCK PARK– Mona Shores’ baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader from Grandville, 11-5 and 2-1 at LMCU Ballpark in Comstock Park on Saturday afternoon.

In the opener Landon Thalman went to the mound and absorbed the loss for the Sailors, and he allowed four runs on seven hits while striking out two.

The Sailors pounded out nine hits, led by Aaron Piasecki who was a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs scored.

In the second game the Sailors sent Trevor Cunningham out to the bump, and he gave up two earned runs over five innings and struck out five batters.

Jaxon Huffman came out of the bullpen to relieve him, and retired all six hitters he faced, striking out five.

But, the Sailors were held to just five hits in the nightcap. Bryson Belanger had a home run while Mason Brunworth had two hits.

The Sailors fell to 10-2 overall.
