Mona Shores golfers finish second at Forest Hills Northern Invitational

GRAND RAPIDS—The Mona Shores boy’s golf team had to settle for a second place finish on Monday afternoon at the Forest Hills Northern Invitational, falling by two strokes to Grand Rapids Christian.

Christian finished with a team total score of 318 while the Sailors shot 320.

Other team total scores included Spring Lake (+33), Forest Hills Northern ( 323), NorthPointe Christian (335), Grand Rapids Catholic Central (+48), Northview (338), Rockford (+51) Byron Center (+51), Forest Hills Central (N/A) and Grand ledge (+67).

Junior Nicholas Taylor led Mona Shores shooting a round of 77 and finishing in sixth place. Other individual scores from Mona Shores included Owen DeLong (80), Chase Knowlton (81), Mitchell Taylor (82) and Jeffrey Lenartowicz (82).
