ADA–Mona Shores varsity softball managed through a push by Forest Hills Eastern in the seventh inning where the Sailors coughed up six runs, but they still won 13-10 on Thursday.

The Sailors collected 13 hits and Forest Hills Eastern had eight in the high-scoring affair.

Mona Shores scored six runs in the top of the seventh. Forest Hills Eastern answered with six of their own.

The Sailors scored when Eastern induced Maggie McCarthy to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored. Elizabeth Savacool tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, and Macey Spaniola singled on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs.

The Sailors took the lead for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Mia Geoghan doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, a wild pitch allowed one run to score for Mona Shores, and an error scored two runs.

Kristen Hylland was in the circle for the Sailors. The righty surrendered seven runs on seven hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out ten.

Hylland, and Spaniola had multiple hits for the Sailors. Pena and Savacool each managed three hits to lead the team.
