MUSKEGON — Muskegon Catholic Central’s baseball team hosted Manistee in a Lakes 8 Activities Conference doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon and won the opener, 10-2.
Game two was stopped in the seventh inning with the game tied 1-1. It will be completed Thursday in Manistee.
Sam Convertini was the winning pitcher for the Crusaders, allowing one earned run on three hits while he struck out five in 5 1/3 innings.
Leading hitters for the Crusaders were Dewey Modaff, Sam Kartes, Jacob Lyonnais and Bryan Convertini with two hits apiece.
Modaff went all seven innings in the nightcap and allowed one unearned run.
