MUSKEGON — Orchard View’s baseball team split a non-conference doubleheader with Grand Rapids Covenant Christian, losing the opener 4-2 and bouncing back to win the nightcap 5-0 at home on Thursday.

In the first game Noah Smith finished with two hits to lead the Cardinals at the plate.

Kellen Morgan was on the hill and pitched 4 1/3 innings with two strike outs.

Daulton Degroot picked up the win in the nightcap.

Smith again shined at the plate, getting another pair of hits, while Jacob Peterman came through with two safeties.

Orchard View moved its record to 3-6 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
