LUDINGTON — Ludington’s girls softball team was swept by Onekama in a non-conference doubleheader, 11-0 and 14-7 at Oriole Field on Thursday.

In the opener Lilli Goodrich started in the circle and threw the first four innings, giving up four hits, four walks and striking out seven.

Jody Meisenheimer finished the game and gave up one hit, four walks and struck out one in one inning.

Brynn Cole had the Orioles’ only hit of the game, a double.

In the nightcap Goodrich threw a complete game, allowing nine hits, five walks and striking out 11 in six innings.

She also slugged a home run and had two RBI to lead the Orioles’ offense. Meisenheimer, Ayiana Rangel and Brynn Fortner each had two hits.

“We did not play well defensively,” said Orioles head coach Sierra Holmes. “We made errors on some plays that we should have made, and did not always run our cutoffs correctly.

“Some of that is because this was only our second doubleheader of the season, and we’re still getting back in the swing of things, but we mostly just need to play better defensively.

“It put a lot of pressure on our pitchers, and forced them to throw extra pitches.”

Ludington fell to 2-2 overall.
