PENTWATER — The weather finally cooperated, and the Pentwater girls softball team was able to get the season started with a non-league doubleheader against Mason County Eastern at home Monday night and swept both games, 15-0 and 18-5.

Game one saw Mikaylyn Kenney step into the pitcher’s circle and pick right up where she left off last season with 11 strike outs, just four walks and no hits.

Offensively, the Falcons were led by Mackenna Hasil, Kenney and Mandi Sayles who each had a hit.

In the second game Haidyn Adams was in the circle for the first time in almost two years. She pitched 2 2/3 innings innings and had some control issues with eight walks, but only had one hit and struck out one.

Kenney came in to finish the game and went 2 1/3 innings and gave up only one hit, walked one and struck out six. She also had a single and a double at the plate.

The Falcons also got offensive production from Mackenna Hasil, Sayles, Bailee Hasil and Maren Martinsen who each had a single.
