WHITEHALL — Ravenna’s baseball team swept a West Michigan Conference doubleheader from Whitehall, 1-0 and 9-0 on the road Tuesday night.

In the first game, Travis May was on the hill for the Bulldogs and he froze out the Vikings’ offense, throwing a complete game shutout with three strike outs while giving up just three hits over seven innings.

The Bulldogs struggled at the plate as well, striking out a total of six times while accumulating three hits themselves — one apiece by May, Tyler Bradtmueller and Luke Meyers. May had the only run batted in.

Each team committed two errors.

Ravenna’s bats heated up in the nightcap, knocking out eight hits with May pacing the attack going 2-for-4, with a double, three RBI and one run scored.

Thomas McCullough also had two hits in four at-bats for the Bulldogs, Bradtmueller drove in one run. Also getting hits were Dayton Thomas, Meyers and Collin Poley.

Brandon McFarren was the winning pitcher, allowing only three hits with eight strike outs.

Whitehall committed six errors, and the Bulldogs two.
