HOLTON–Holton’s girls softball team swept a doubleheader from rival Hesperia, 16-1 in four innings and 4-1 on Friday night.

Ryann Robins earned the victory in the circle in Game 1, giving up just one hit and striking out eight.

Abby Fowler led the offense, going 2-for-3 with three runs batted in. Alana Cregg contributed a double.

Emma Monette, Aubrey Goyings and Lexi Bartolameoli each added hits.

Holton scored 13 runs in the fourth inning to finish the game.

In the second game Robins again was in the circle and claimed the win, and Fowler pitched three innings in relief. Each struck out seven.

Fowler and Gianna Reed each had doubles for the offense.

Kenzie Greene, Robins, Goyings, Cregg and Bartolameoli each had hits for the Red Devils.

Holton improved to 6-2 overall and 6-0 in the Central States Activities Association. The sweep gave coach Kirk Younts his 200th win.
