MUSKEGON — Grand Haven’s baseball team traveled to Reeths-Puffer for a non-conference game and came away with a 12-6 victory on Friday.

After a scoreless first inning, both teams score two runs in the second. The Bucs scored two in the third to take a 4-2 lead, but the Rockets answered with four in the bottom half to mount a 6-4 lead.

The Bucs scored a single run in the fifth to climb within one, 6-5 before exploding for seven runs in the top of the seventh to pull away late.

Xavier Rodriguez threw a complete game, allowing six runs on five hits, walked four and struck out two in earning the win on the mound.

Jared Tithof led the Bucs at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored. Trenton Caswell also had three hits and drove in two runs while scoring one.

Evan Duvall went 3-for-3, had three RBI and two runs scored. Ty Sandwick was 2-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored and Owen Brunsting finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored.

Trent Reichert started the game on the hill for the Rockets and threw the first three innings, giving up four runs on five hits with two walks and three strike outs.

Alex Orchard took the loss, pitching three innings of relief and allowing six runs on five hits.

Reeths-Puffer finished with five hits, one apiece by Kaden Edwards, Alex Johnson, Wilhelm, Jordan Bochenek and Kyle Schlaff.
