SHELBY – The Shelby girls soccer team rolled over Mason County Central in Western Michigan Conference action on Tuesday evening.
The Tigers won 5-2 on the back of a four-goal performance by Kendall Zaverl.
Also getting in on the action for Shelby was Hannah Frees who netted a goal and Haydee Pedrosa who added three assists.
Shelby (2-6, 2-1) will continue WMC play when they travel to Oakridge on Thursday.
Mason County Central (0-4, 0-2) will host Hart on Thursday.
Mona Shores Girls Soccer
ZEELAND – The Mona Shores girls soccer team got by Zeeland East and marked off another O-K Green Conference win on Tuesday afternoon by a final score of 2-0.
The Sailors took the two-goal lead in the first half and held off the opposing pressure in the second half to preserve the win.
Jenna Baker opened up the scoring off an assist from Lydia Sowles. Sowles followed up with a goal of her own assisted by Mia Brown.
Goalkeeper Ella Buikema posted the shutout in the net for the Sailors.
Mona Shores (3-1-1, 2-0-1) will host their rival, Reeths-Puffer on Thursday.
Oakridge vs. Hart Girls Soccer
HART – The Oakridge girls soccer team moved to 2-0 in the Western Michigan Conference on Tuesday evening with a 7-1 win over the Hart Pirates.
Saidee Raap lit up the scoreboard for the Eagles scoring five goals on the night.
Also, Oakridge’s Bri Benson and Elle DeWitte each added a goal apiece.
Scoring the lone goal for the Pirates was Sandy Salgado.
Oakridge (3-4) will battle Shelby on Thursday at home.
Hart (0-5-1, 0-2) is also set to continue conference action on Thursday when they will take on Mason County Central.
