SCOTTVILLE — Mason County Central’s baseball team swept a West Michigan Conference doubleheader from Whitehall, 3-1 and 5-2 on Monday afternoon.
In the first game Isaac VanAmberg threw the first six innings on the hill for the Vikings, and did not get the decision. He struck out eight and walked four.
Kyle Stratton took the loss in relief and gave up two runs on one hit.
Landon Howe went 2-for-2 to lead the Vikings at the plate, while Maddox Varela was 2-for-3.
Stratton pitched four innings in Game 2 and was the losing pitcher. He gave up five runs on four hits, walking four and striking out three.
Jaden Brinkert and VanAmberg each were 2-for-3 at the plate.
