MUSKEGON — Muskegon Mona Shores baseball team hosted Grand Haven in a non-conference doubleheader Saturday afternoon and came away with a sweep by identical 11-1 scores to remain unbeaten at 7-0.

In the first game, Landen Thalman toed the rubber, going five innings and displayed remarkable efficiency in striking out four and giving up just two singles.

Offensively, the Sailors were paced by Diego Pena with two hits and three runs batted in.

Jaxon Huffman also pounded out a pair of safeties, drove in three runs and scored two. He also had a home run that cleared the left field fence.

Aaron Piasecki contributed two more hits, stole three bases and scored three.

Trevor Cunningham was dominant on the hill for the Sailors in Game 2, retiring 13 straight batters and allowed one earned run on just two hits and finished with two strike outs.

Mark Konecny had a perfect 4-for-4 game at the plate with two RBIs and three runs scored. Javanni Johnson finished with three hits, two RBIs and a run scored.

Piasecki, Mason Brunworth and Pena followed with two hits apiece.

The Sailors, 3-0 in the OK Green, are scheduled to host Zeeland West on Tuesday in a conference twin bill if the weather allows.
