GRAND RAPIDS — Whitehall’s baseball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader to Zeeland East, 8-1 and 1-0 at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids on Friday.
Ryne Christiensen pitched the first two innings of the opener, giving up two runs on two hits with one walk and one strike out. Cash Bloomberg-Brown gave up five runs in his one inning of work and Isaac VanAmberg gave up one run on one hit while walking one and striking out one.
Landon Howe had the Vikings’ only hit.
Kyle Stratton was the losing pitcher in the nightcap, giving up one unearned run on one hit while walking two and striking out three in 4 2/3 innings.
The Vikings had only two hits, one each by Stratton and Brendan Schmehil.
