HART–It took a walk-off double by Sydney Dunbar to produce the winning run for the Fremont girls softball team in a 6-5 victory over Hart in the first game of a doubleheader Monday at Hart.
The Packers didn’t have any trouble in the nightcap, cruising to a 13-0 shutout.
Haley Zerlaut picked up the pitching victory in the first game, striking out 12.
McKenzie Gugins and Madeline Baden each had a couple of hits to lead the Packers. Baden also stole two bases.
In the nightcap Sophia Romine allowed just two hits and no runs in five innings of work.
Dunbar, Laney Sipos, Romine, Baden and Gugins all had multiple hits, led by Dunbar who had three. The Packers did not have an errors.
