NORTON SHORES–Three Sailor pitchers combined for a no hitter on Tuesday afternoon as Mona Shores cruised past Spring Lake 12-0 in baseball action.

Jaxon Huffman got the start and the win on the mound for the Sailors. Huffman’s win puts him at 11-0. Jason Anderson tossed two scoreless innings in relief and Bryson Belanger tossed the last inning for the Sailors.

Offensively the Sailors were paced by senior Mark Konecny.

Konecny launched a pair of home runs. The home runs for Konecny were his 8th and 9th on the season. The 9th home run ties Konecny for first all time in Mona Shores history in a single season. The record is now shared with Eric Posthumas in 2000 and Dave Beck in 88’.

An inning later, Jaxon Huffman blasted his 8th home run of the season. A three run bomb to left center. That home run for Jaxon ranks him second all time in a single season.

Aaron Piasecki added two more hits of his own and sophomore Jaden Thomas picked up the first hit of his young varsity career.

The Sailors complete the regular season with a 30-4 record. The 30 wins are good enough to tie the record for wins in a season. The number has been reached two other times by Shores teams in 1982 and 1999!!

The Sailors will now travel to Reeths-Puffer Saturday for a 12:00 game against the Rockets to open district play.
