CUSTER — Hesperia’s baseball team took both ends of a non-conference doubleheader with Mason County Eastern, 2-0 and 12-1 in five innings on the road Friday afternoon.

Armando Escobedo collected the win on the mound for the visiting Panthers, pitching six innings and allowing one walk, two hits and striking eight.

Travis Kurtz and Hunter Billman each drove in a run for the Panther offense.

In the nightcap Kurtz took the hill and gave up just one hit and a walk while registering five strike outs.

Sam Gager crushed a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning and had five RBI along with two walks for the Panthers. Escobedo scored four runs and had five stolen bases.
