FREMONT –The Whitehall girls soccer team advanced to the second round of district play with a 3-2 win over Fremont on Wednesday.

The Vikings were hoisted by a Maggie Evans’ hat trick that helped hold back the Packers. Olivia McCarthy earned an assist on one of the goals.

Lili Isak drew the Packers within one score with her final of two goals on the night with just three minutes left to play. It wasn’t enough, and the Vikings held on for the win.

Bri Hamann made five saves in the net for Whitehall, while Macey Powers had seven saves for Fremont.

Whitehall (9-7) moves on to the next round of the district tournament. The Vikings will play Ludington on Tuesday at Spring Lake.

Fremont finished with a record of 10-9 to bring the season to a close.
