FREMONT — Fremont’s girls softball team dropped both ends of a Central State Activities Association-Gold doubleheader to Newaygo, 12-1 and 12-10 in Fremont on Monday afternoon.
The Packers didn’t bring their bats with them in the first game, and some defensive errors didn’t help.
In the nightcap things were better for the Packers, but they stranded too many runners on base to benefit from a 16-hit attack.
Savannah Keur and Laney Sipos each went 3-for-4 at the plate, with Sidney Dunbar, Sage Vandenberg, Haley Zerlaut and Trinity Zerlaut produced two hits apiece.
