Fremont vs. Shelby Girls Soccer

SHELBY –The Fremont girls soccer team closed out their Wednesday evening with a 2-0 shutout win against Shelby in non-conference action.

The game was scoreless at halftime as both teams found a few scoring opportunities that fell short. 

The Packers’ Lili Isak finally broke the tie halfway through the second half off of an assist by Mia Clemence. Just two minutes later, Clemence posted a goal of her own to cap off the night’s scoring.

The Packers outshot the Tigers 10-6.

Goalkeeper Macey Powers made six saves for the Packers, while the Tigers’ Desirae Melchor had eight saves.

Fremont (8-6, 5-3) will be at home on Friday to take on the Ravenna Bulldogs.

Shelby (4-13-2, 2-5) will to travel to Big Rapids on Monday, May 23rd.

Ludington vs. Orchard View Girls Soccer

LUDINGTON –The Ludington girls soccer team shut out Orchard View by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday evening in Lakes 8 Activities Conference action.

Maddy Billings had quite the night scoring both the Orioles’ goals off of corner kicks.

In the net for the Orioles, Anyssa Castaneda posted the shutout with eight saves.

Ludington (10-6-1, 4-1-1) will be at home on Monday against the Whitehall Vikings.

Orchard View (8-5, 3-3) will visit the Norse of North Muskegon on Friday.

Fruitport vs. Reeths-Puffer Girls Soccer

FRUITPORT –The Fruitport girls soccer team got past Reeths-Puffer by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday night.

The Trojans’ Emerson Vermeeris, Raena Norbotten and Alexa Hanson-Wilbur each found the net for a score.

Mikayla Belasco contributed two assists, while Hanson-Wilbur added one assist.

Goalkeeper Riley Kettel had eight saves for the Trojans.

Fruitport (9-6-3, 1-4-2) will take on rival Spring Lake in the opening round of the OK Conference-Blue Tournament on Monday.

Reeths-Puffer (11-5, 5-2) will kick off the OK Conference-Green Tournament against Grand Rapids Union on Tuesday.
