FREMONT — Fremont’s girls softball team split a CSAA-Silver doubleheader with Reed City at home Tuesday. The Packers dropped the first game 13-1, and came back to win the nightcap 17-16 on a walk-off single.

Errors betrayed the Lady Packers in the first game, and their bats couldn’t catch up.

In the second game, Sage Vandenberg knocked in the game-winner in extra innings.

The Lady Packers had 16 hits, with Haley Zerlaut, Savannah Keur and Vandenberg collecting three hits apiece.

Madeline Baden and McKenzie Gugins all had multiple hits.
