Fruitport used a big fifth inning on Tuesday to top Holland Christian, 8-4 in a O-K Blue baseball matchup. 
The Trojans trailed 4-3 before putting up five runs in the big fifth inning.
Cody Matuz threw five tough innings for Fruitport, striking out 11 while scattering six hits. Matuz also helped himself out at the plate, blasting a two-run homer.
Fruitport was also led at the plate Gavin Reames and Ryan Bosch with two hits each.
Game 2 was called due to darkness with Fruitport leading 9-0 and will pick back up in the fourth inning on Thursday.
