Fruitport takes down Muskegon Catholic with 5-2 non-conference win

FRUITPORT – The Fruitport girls soccer team hosted the Crusaders of Muskegon Catholic Central on Monday evening for a non-conference matchup.

The Trojans ran away with a 5-2 win.

Emerson VerMerris was the leading scorer for the Trojans with two goals. Also netting goals for Fruitport were Anna Bol, Aleena Trailer and Courtney Mayette.

Mikayla Belasco and Haiden Wilburn supported with assists in the victory.

Fruitport (8-6-3, 1-4-2) will host Reeths-Puffer on Wednesday for more non-league action.

Muskegon Catholic Central (4-6-2, 1-3-1) will next be at home against Western Michigan Christian for a key Lakes 8 matchup.
