SPRING LAKE — Oakridge’s girls softball team survived and advanced, which is the name of the game in the post-season, with a 2-1 conquest of Spring Lake in a pre-district game on the road Tuesday afternoon.

Brooklyn Galdeen stepped into the circle for the Lady Eagles and went the full seven innings, allowing just three hits and one walk while striking out nine.

Andrea Romero led the Lady Eagles with two hits, including the game-winning single in the sixth inning. Galdeen and Brenna Cabrera each contributed a single.

Oakridge took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning on a walk, a sacrifice bunt, a throwing error and a suicide squeeze bunt.

The Lady Eagles now play Coopersville in the districts Saturday at 10 a.m.
