GRAND HAVEN — Grand Haven’s baseball team swept a non-conference doubleheader from Zeeland West, 3-2 and 4-0 at home Friday afternoon.

In the first game Zeeland West took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning, but the Buccaneers tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the fourth and won it with a single run in the bottom of the fifth.

Nick Wilson picked up the win in relief, coming in out of the bullpen to throw three innings and did not allow a run or a hit, and struck out four.

Xavier Rodriguez started the game and threw the first four innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits, walked three and struck out four.

Braden Rademaker paced the Bucs at the plate going 2-for-3. Jared Tithof was 1-for-2 with one RBI and a run scored, Evan DuVall went 1-for-2 with a RBI and Trenton Caswell had one RBI.

Lucas Burns, Ty Sandwick and Owen Brunsting each had one base hit.

In the nightcap Grand Haven scored single runs in the first and second innings, and tacked on two in the bottom of the third to take the win.

Caswell was on the bump and took the win, throwing four innings and allowing just two hits, walking five and striking out six. Garrett Jacobson tossed the final three innings and recorded three strike outs.

Tithof led the Bucs in hitting going 2-for-3. Brunsting was 2-for-3 with one RBI. Nate Stafford was 1-for-3 with two RBI, Rademaker was 1-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored.
