PENTWATER —Pentwater’s girls softball team swept a Western Michigan D League doubleheader from visiting Manistee Catholic Central, 14-0 and 15-0 at home Thursday afternoon.

In the opener the Falcons jumped out to a 9-0 lead after the first inning and their offense just kept rolling from there.

Alma-bound Mikaylyn Kenney continued her brillance in the circle for the Falcons, spinning a masterful one-hitter with no walks and 14 strike outs.

Crysta Cluchey banged out a double and a single to help lead he Falcons’ offense, while Kenney flexed her muscle at the plate with a triple and a pair of doubles and Bailee Hasil added a double and a single.

Haidyn Adams, Mackenna Hasil, Maren Martinsen and Hailey Powers each added singles for the Falcons.

The Falcons built an 8-0 lead in the first inning of game two, and added six runs in the fourth.

Kenney pitched the second game as well, throwing five innings again. She only gave up one hit and one walk while striking out 13 Sabers, and had an inside-the-park home run.

Cluchey had a big game at the plate with a triple and two singles, while Mandi Sayles belted a triple to go with a single, Haidyn Adams had three singles, Marissa Sayles and Aubrie Adams each added singles.

Pentwater improved to 9-3 overall and 6-2 in the WMD.
