Ludington vs. Whitehall Girls Soccer

LUDINGTON –The Ludington girls soccer team topped Whitehall in non-conference action on Monday evening.

The Orioles got past the Vikings with a 3-1 victory.

Maddy Billings, Braylynn Lemire and Maddie Gasaway each found the net for a goal on the night.

The Orioles’ Anyssa Castaneda made six saves in the net.

Ludington (11-6-1, 5-1-1) will travel to Manistee in Lakes 8 Activities Conference play on Wednesday.

Whitehall (8-6, 6-1) is set to host Western Michigan Christian on Wednesday.

Mason County Central vs. Kingsley Girls Soccer

KINGSLEY –The Mason County Central girls soccer team struggled against the Kingsley Stags on Monday evening.

Despite spending a lot of time on offense, the Spartans couldn’t get past the opposing keeper and lost 5-0.

Gabby Jensen had 10 saves in net for the Spartans.

Mason County Central (0-13, 0-7) will travel to Big Rapids to take on Crossroads Academy on Wednesday.

Fremont vs. Reed City Girls Soccer

FREMONT –The Fremont girls soccer team took down Reed City in an exciting double-overtime win on Monday.

The Packers won by a score of 3-2 in the opening round of the CSAA Conference Tournament.

The Packers dominated offensively but couldn’t find enough to put the game away in regulation.

Mia Witte broke the 2-2 tie off of an assist from Riley Chase just two minutes into the second overtime.

Offensive pressure was key for the Packers and they outshot Reed City 27-9.

Macey Powers made seven saves in goal for the Packers.

Fremont (10-6, 6-3) will visit Big Rapids on Wednesday in a semi-final round game in the conference tournament.
