Ludington and Orchard View post Wednesday soccer victories while Fremont falls in CSAA tourney action

MANISTEE –The Ludington girls soccer team wrapped up their Lakes 8 Activities Conference season with a 4-0 shutout win over Manistee on Wednesday evening.

Maddy Billings led the way for the Orioles with three goals and an assist. Evelyn Pearson rounded out the scoring with a single goal. 

Also adding into the production for the Orioles was Braylynn Lemire who added an assist.

Anyssa Castaneda posted the shutout with two saves.

Ludington (12-6-1, 6-1-1) will travel to North Muskegon on Friday in non-league action.

Orchard View vs. Muskegon Catholic Central Girls Soccer

MUSKEGON –The Orchard View girls soccer team posted their last ever Lakes 8 Activities Conference win in the regular season on Wednesday evening.

The Cardinals got by the Crusaders by a score of 4-1.

The game was knotted 1-1 at the end of the first half. After the break, however, the Cardinals kicked it into gear and pulled ahead.

Nazalia Mendiola wrapped up the night with a hat trick for the Cardinals, while Cassidy Noorhoek threw in a goal herself.

Payten Bleich supported on two of the goals with assists.

Orchard View (9-6, 4-4) will host their final home game of the regular season on Friday. The Cardinals will take on Oakridge.

Muskegon Catholic Central (5-8-2, 2-5-1) is set to travel to Ravenna on Friday to face the Bulldogs.

Fremont vs. Big Rapids Girls Soccer

BIG RAPIDS – The Fremont girls soccer team struggled in the CSAA Conference semi-final game on Wednesday against the Big Rapids Cardinals.

Despite opening up the scoring, the Packers fell to the Cardinals by a score of 9-1.

Mia Clemens notched the lone goal off of an assist from Lili Isak.

Macey Powers and Mia Foster shared time in the net and made five saves a piece.

Fremont (10-7, 6-4) is set to host Howard City Tri County on Friday in the final round of the CSAA tourney. The Packers will be competing for 3rd or 4th place.
