PETOSKEY –The Ludington girls soccer team posted a fourth-place finish at the Petoskey Soccer Invitational on Saturday.

The Orioles went 1-2 on the day.

The day started with an exciting 3-2 shootout win over Marquette after a 1-1 tie in regulation. Elianna Jeruzal scored the lone goal after two halves of action. 

In the shootout, both teams were deadlocked by a score of 2-2 after the first five shooters. Erin Clancy and Maddy Billings netted the two goals to continue with another shooter. 

Evelyn Pearson came to the line as the sixth Oriole and fired a shot past the keeper to clinch the win.

Grace Ashley made eight saves in regulation, while Anyssa Castaneda had three saves in the shootout.

With the win, the Orioles advanced to the winner’s bracket but lost to Petoskey by a score of 7-0.

The Orioles closed out the day with a tough 1-0 loss to Dexter.

Goalkeeper Grace Ashley made five saves in the final game.

Ludington (9-6, 4-1) will travel to Western Michigan Christian on Monday for Lakes 8 Activities Conference play.
